Annual lecture on prejudice reduction presented by the Department of Psychology

Examining Social Class as Culture and Identity
Speaker: Rebecca Carey, Ph.D.
Dr. Rebecca Carey is a member of the faculty in the Psychology Department at Princeton University. From a sociocultural approach, she investigates how experiences of societal and economic adversity impact people’s close relationships, and how close relationships, in turn, can impact socioeconomic disparities in health and well-being. She directs the Adversity and Relationships in Context (ARC) Lab, where she and colleagues examine a wide range of topics, including social class, social networks, self and identity, health disparities, first-generation college students, and cross-class interactions. Before coming to Princeton, Dr. Carey completed her Ph.D. at Stanford University and a postdoctoral fellowship at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
The event is free and open to the public.
